Ecology on a human scale

Working in front of a computer is an everyday reality for more and more people, and its sedentary nature requires taking care of one’s comfort and health. The Humanscale brand brings ergonomic and ecological office solutions that set new trends in the industry.

Humanscale’s latest example of sustainable design is the Path office chair. Almost 10 kilograms of recycled plastic was used to create one product. The materials that served as the base of the armchair included: fishing nets, plastic collected from the ocean, PET bottles and post-consumer and post-industrial waste. At the same time, care was taken to ensure that the product did not contain chemicals and elements dangerous to humans and the planet.
Path is already the twenty-sixth product of the Humanscale brand, which gives back to the planet more than it takes away – this is confirmed by the Living Product certificate issued by ILFI. Responsible production is also accompanied by quality and durability, for which the manufacturer issues a fifteen-year warranty.
The Path armchair, designed in cooperation with Todd Bracher Studio, also means care for the user. Its design fits 95% of all types of human figures and does not require adjustment for correct and comfortable use. The chair has a built-in patented Gravity MechanismTM, which self-adjusts under the influence of body weight and gravity. The chair moves in synchronization with the user’s movement, and its dynamics allows you to eliminate unhealthy habits of sitting at a desk, which may lead to poor posture and other health problems.
Another technology used in the production of the chair is FormSense Eco KnitTM – a mesh material that adapts to the body and provides self-adjusting lumbar support, regardless of the user’s height and weight. This allows you to minimize the negative impact of the sitting position on the spine. The material is made from recycled plastic bottles and, thanks to tailored weaving, it does not generate any additional waste.
Aesthetically, the focus was on warm, universal colors that allow the chair to match any type of environment. In the era of rapidly changing working conditions, such solutions allow for a longer life of the chair, which can easily be found not only in the office space, but also at home or in a hotel.
Additionally, the possibility of personalizing bases, armrests and upholstery has been introduced.
