This Sunday, the 27th Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity will take place. This year, the money collected will be used to purchase advanced medical equipment for specialist children’s hospitals, i.e. magnetic resonance, computer tomography and X-ray diagnostic equipment.
This year, Architecture Snob platform, decided to involve architects in collecting money for the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity Foundation, by organizing special auctions where you can place your bids for books and albums of well-known architects, participation in guided tours or lunch with prominent Polish architects.
– I’ve been thinking for a few years about the way for architecture to support the noble goal of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. It was not until the launch of Architecture Snob platform and the interview with the architect Ewa Kuryłowicz, who stated that Poles and Polish architects in particular lack empathy, that the idea really got going – says Marcin Szczelina, the editor-in-chief of Architecture Snob. The most distinguished architects responded to the platform’s invitation. – All of the invited architects enthusiastically expressed willingness to participate in auctions for the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. The response is very encouraging, so if the auctions are popular, we’ll definitely do it again next year – adds Szczelina.
